Reefer Madness is a 1936 film that exploited prejudice and evoked fear. Features a hit and run accident and manslaughter, suicide, attempted rape, and descent into insanity, a morality tale and the villains are people who use cannabis. The film was rediscovered in the 1970s as unintentional comedy drama. It inspired an off-Broadway musical satire in 2001, and a film based on the musical in 2005. This version of Reefer Madness is fully restored and colorized.
